  • The November 21 edition of In the News features a $6 million grant to explore the potential of ginseng in the treatment of colon cancer, the use of advanced MRI technology to detect very early cancers, the election of Olufunmilayo Olopade, MBBS, FACP, to the National Academy of Science’s Institute of Medicine, and the identification of a compound that may protect normal cells from damage associated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

  • The August-September issue of Member News and Updates focuses on the introduction of the new searchable comprehensive database of cancer-related funding opportunities on our website and a quality assurance and process improvement tool for the Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO). The CCTO “dashboard” is a tool that enables more efficient filing of regulatory paperwork for all cancer-related clinical trials. Umberto Tachinardi, MD, Director for Informatics, leads the UCCRC information technology group.
