The Transgenic Mouse and Embryonic Stem Cell Facility provides investigators with genetically manipulated mice through transgenic technology or embryonic stem cell manipulation.  The Facility provides a comprehensive set of technical services, has a fully operational gene targeting service, is in the process of setting up for gene construction services, and offers an annual course in Mouse Handling and Breeding.

Services

  • Transgenic mouse production from founder through F1 Stage;
  • ES cell technology mouse production (knockouts, knockins, cKO, etc.);
  • ES cell gene targeting and culturing;
  • Mouse embryonic feeder (MEF) cell production;
  • Timed pregnancies of various strains and lines of mice;
  • Embryo rederivation;
  • ES cell line development;
  • Various breeding services and GEM model line maintenance; and
  • DNA preparation from ES cell lines for the construction of a gene targeting construct.
